Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking an Application Engineer for its Huntersville, NC facility to drive metal additive manufacturing opportunities with aerospace, defense and other advanced markets. You will own technical opportunities, develop proposals, and coordinate with Engineering, Operations and the Commercial Team to ensure profitable growth.

You will engage customers, prepare detailed quotations and business cases, and guide projects from scope to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of proven experience in metal additive manufacturing.
• Experience in ISO 9001:2015 / AS9100 certified facilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers to evaluate metal components for additive manufacturing and develop optimized solutions.
• Lead technical engagement to develop detailed quotations, proposals, and business cases.
• Interface with Commercial Team to pursue and secure new opportunities.
• Support quotations, proposals, contracts, and customer agreements with stakeholders.
• Understand profitability and adjust pricing, scope, or terms as needed.
• Transition opportunities to Engineering and Operations with aligned scope and schedule.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and provide ongoing technical support.
