Job summary

DCCCA in Kansas seeks a full-time Licensed Addictions Counselor to provide direct client services and coordinate treatment planning for adults in our residential and community programs.

You will conduct screenings, assessments, and counseling, ensure safety, train clients in coping skills, and document progress per state guidelines.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Human Services and licensure, CPR and TB testing, with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Services; licensure as a Licensed Addictions Counselor preferred.
• CPR, AIDS in-service hours and annual TB testing (residential programs only) are required.
• State licensure as a Licensed Addictions Counselor or pending licensure is necessary.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain transportation as required.

Responsibilities

• Direct client services monthly, with hours based on tenure; part-time staff dedicate 60% of hours to direct service.
• Create a safe client environment by performing required safety procedures.
• Assist in client orientation to program rules and treatment goals.
• Administer drug and alcohol screenings, assessments, and evaluations to clients.
• Coordinate services from assessment and treatment planning through discharge and aftercare.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions to promote positive interaction and outcomes.
