Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related field with 3+ years of post-Bachelor degree experience OR Master’s degree with 1+ year post-Master’s experience in addictions/therapy/counseling
• Must have current and valid licensure or certification as social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state agency

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to identify history, current presentation, problem areas, and treatment needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the program.
• Prepare and review initial treatment plans and progress notes.
• Lead group counseling, individual or family sessions and document as required.
• Provide client and family education on substance abuse and psychiatric issues.
• Ensure timely, clear documentation of client care and incidents.
• Provide crisis intervention and counseling as needed.
• Document aftercare planning for assigned clients.
• Liaise with insurance carriers and referrals sources as requested.
• Conduct educational workshops and liaise with self-help groups and EAP professionals.
