- Provides addiction specialty care and inpatient addiction medicine consultation services.
- Develops outcomes-based treatment plans of care that address mental health, substance use, functional impairment, and co-occurring substance use and / or medical disorders.
- Engages the patient and family to develop treatment plans that address identified goals.
- Champions a model of integrated care that focuses on the full spectrum of patient health through close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Consults with attending providers to assist with ongoing management of the needs of their patients as related to diagnosis or substance use disorder, intoxication, or withdrawal.
- Develops and leads staff education on topics pertinent to substance use and addiction medicine.
- Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in the delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or workflows.
Job Requirements
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program or foreign equivalency training required and
- Completion of Addiction Medicine Fellowship and / or Medical Toxicology Fellowship required
- Two years of demonstrated experience in designated specialty area preferred but not required
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required if working in the state of Minnesota upon hire
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Allina Health required upon hire or
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire
- Board Certified and / or board eligible in addiction medicine OR medical toxicology instead of Completion of Addiction Medicine Fellowship and / or Medical Toxicology Fellowship required within 1-1 / 2 Yrs and
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required and
- Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire required and
- National Provider Identifier upon hire required
