Avenues Recovery Center in Denver, CO is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or PA-C to provide medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight within detox and residential substance use disorder treatment settings.

The role emphasizes patient stabilization, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards in a structured, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted NP (FNP, PMHNP) or PA-C license in Colorado.
• Active DEA registration.
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health (1+ year preferred).
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care.
• Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment.
• Order and review medications, labs, and urine drug screens (UDS).
• Document all medical care in the EMR.
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and UR teams.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards.
• Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently.
