Job summary

Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks an Addiction Counselor to join our team on Long Island. This full-time role is 35 hours per week with 1–2 evenings required, delivering comprehensive assessments, counseling (individual and group), and care planning as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred bilingual Spanish/English; required HS Diploma or GED and CASAC‑T eligibility. PC proficiency and inputting electronic medical records are essential; a NYS driver’s license is needed for occasional

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.

• Proficient with a PC and electronic medical records.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License for occasional transport.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
• Refer clients to alternative levels of care when clinically indicated.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Complete clinical documentation such as treatment plans, progress notes, and reports.
• Document in an electronic medical records system.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide person centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate level of care.
• Refer clients to alternative levels of care when clinically indicated.

• Document in an electronic medical records system.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide person centered care.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED.
• CASAC‑T that is CASAC eligible.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
• PC proficiency and the ability to input and maintain electronic medical records.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License needed for occasional use of business vehicle to transport clients.

Schedule: Full time - 35 hours a week – 1-2 evenings required.

Rate of Pay: non- bilingual $25 per hour - bilingual $28 per hour

This rate of pay serves as a good faith estimate. Actual pay is based on a number of factors which may include a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and work location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation, such as the value of benefits, which may be applicable to this position.
