Job summary

New Mexico Treatment Services, LLC in Espanola, NM seeks a Counselor to provide individual and group addiction treatment services for adult patients and families within our opioid treatment program.

The role involves data gathering, treatment planning, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure accurate assessments, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. A four-year degree and NM licensure are required, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in counseling or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Active license to practice in NM (LSAA, LADAC, LMHC, LPCC, LMFT, LMSW or LISW).
• Valid driver's license or state ID.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to patients.
• Direct training groups and seminars; provide therapeutic leadership in group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate referrals with community agencies and law enforcement to ensure continuity of treatment and compliance.
• Complete individual chemical dependency assessment for new patients and ensure accuracy of the assessment process.
• Develop an individual treatment plan (ITP) with patient input and signature.
• Maintain patient charts within established time frames and ensure documentation reflects current problems and goals.
• Assist with urine sampling and documentation in charts and program software.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and proper release of information to outside referrals.
• Maintain patient files in compliance with DHHS regulations and internal policies.
• Discharge patients in a timely and properly documented manner.
• Contribute to CQI monitors and participate in ongoing professional development.
