Job summary

The Brien Center in Pittsfield, MA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered addiction treatment. You will participate in intake, assessment, initiation of medication, stabilization, and ongoing maintenance as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MA licensed RN with current license (MA).
• BLS for Healthcare Provider or ability to obtain within 5 months.
• CARN certification or plan to obtain within 3 years.
• Experience in substance use and mental health nursing preferred.
• Strong computer skills (word processing and spreadsheets).

Responsibilities

• Adheres to regulations, policies, code of conduct, and regulatory requirements.
• Provides patient-centered care including initial assessment, medication initiation, stabilization, and maintenance.
• Collaborates with psychiatric medical team, clinicians, pharmacies, PCPs, recovery coaches, and other providers.
• Assesses patients with no-shows, ensuring uninterrupted access to medications.
• Coordinates with OBAT provider and pharmacy for prescriptions, authorizations, and insurance.
• Documents encounters within 24 hours in the EMR and complies with policies.
• Administers injectable medications.
• Monitors labs and toxicology, reporting abnormal values.
• Completes BSAS mandated paperwork at assigned intervals.
• Collects toxicology samples and interprets results.
• Participates in training via Boston Medical Center, Relias; continuing education.
• Performs BSAS site reviews annually with OBAT Nurse Program Manager.
