Job summary

Phantom AI in Mountain View, CA seeks a detail-oriented Test & Validation Engineer to perform vehicle-level testing and data validation for our vision-based perception system. You will identify edge cases and ensure reliability on real-world tracks and roads, contributing to robust ADAS features.

Responsibilities include developing procedures, analyzing logs, and collaborating with engineering to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in ADAS/AD vehicle testing, design, or application engineering at an OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
• Valid US Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Mandatory for vehicle testing).
• Strong understanding of ADAS/AD systems, sensors (Camera, Radar, LiDAR), and key test equipment (e.g., OxTS, ABD, 4a, DGPS).
• Familiarity with safety and regulatory test protocols (NHTSA, Euro NCAP, ISO 26262 awareness)
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or data analysis tools for processing test logs
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong documentation skills
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for track testing and field validation

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle-level testing and validation for ADAS/AD perception components (Camera/Vision systems) on test tracks and public roads.
• Develop detailed Test Procedure (TP), Test Scenarios, and Evaluation Metrics.
• Analyze complex sensor/log data, identify edge cases, and generate validation/evaluation reports.
• Support system set-up, calibration, and maintenance for vision systems and data acquisition systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to reproduce and resolve perception/system issues.
