Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Senior Functional Safety Engineer for the ADAS team in hybrid work environments. You will lead safety work products for BlueCruise and Pro-Trailer Hitch, performing HARA, FSC, and TSC activities and producing DFMEA/FTA analyses per ISO 26262.

You will collaborate across systems, hardware, software, and V&V domains to ensure a robust safety case and successful verification and validation planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in Functional Safety.
  • 2+ years of Model Based Systems Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and integration of Functional Safety work products on vehicle program applications for ADAS features like BlueCruise and Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist.
  • Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).
  • Produce safety analyses (DFMEA, FTA, DFA) per ISO 26262.
  • Support Safety Verification & Validation planning at different system abstraction levels.
  • Create test cases (DVP), execute them, and evaluate results.
  • Contribute to safety audits and assessments.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and V&V teams to deliver a safe product.
