Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an engineer to own core development for ADAS sensors, leading hardware and software design across programs. You will manage DFMEA, DVP&R, and E/E documentation, interface with suppliers, and drive system-level problem solving.

Hospitality of travel is possible; hybrid onsite four days per week. A strong background in E/E hardware design and systems engineering is essential to deliver safe, reliable ADAS features across vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or strongly related equivalent.
• Experience with packaging electronic modules and components in vehicles.
• 3+ years of experience in Hardware Design of E/E components.
• 7+ years of experience with Automotive Component or Subsystem Product Development tools and processes.
• Strong understanding and application of engineering disciplines (engineering specifications, systems engineering, design validation, failure mode analysis, 8D, Six Sigma).
• Experience analyzing and resolving complex issues.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Lead core design for ADAS components per Global Product Development System across vehicle programs.
• Provide cost-efficient and quality parts on time with robust documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, SCCAF).
• Lead sourcing process including investment, piece price, tooling cost reviews and ESOW/documents.
• Manage software design reviews and releases for prototype, production, and service.
• Lead Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses.
• Interface with Ford application activities and supplier engineers to align specs.
• Create and sign off E/E information like WCCA, Device Transmittals, and schematics.
• Support vehicle operations to determine appropriate assembly and testing processes.
