Job summary

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking a reliable Substitute Special Education Preschool Teacher to support schools when full-time teachers are absent. You will follow lesson plans, adapt instruction, and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.

The position offers on-call, part-time hours with a $125/day pay rate. You will collaborate with support staff, monitor progress, and help ensure continuity of learning across IEPs and 504 plans.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid substitute teaching license or higher license as required by state regulations.
• Clean criminal background checks.
• Ability to follow established lesson plans and adapt instruction when necessary.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff.
• Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on the teacher's lesson plans and IEP goals.
• Support students with a range of disabilities and behavioral needs.
• Implement accommodations and behavior strategies as outlined in plans.
• Maintain a structured, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assist with academic tasks, communication needs, mobility, or personal care as assigned.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff for consistent student support.
• Monitor student progress and behavior and document information for the returning teacher.
• Use classroom management strategies to promote engagement and minimize disruptions.
• Communicate professionally with staff and administrators about student needs or concerns.
• Uphold school policies, confidentiality, and safety procedures.
