Job summary

Braxton County Schools is seeking a Special Education/Elementary Physical Education Teacher for Burnsville Elementary. The 200-day contract requires a valid WV teaching certificate for SP/PE and compliance with background checks and state regulations.

The role reports to the Building Principal and involves developing lessons aligned to WV standards, using technology, and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment. Expect collaboration with staff and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.
• Perform duties as described in the job description below.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of WV Content Standards and Objectives, district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required.
• Uses 21stCentury Technology skills to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Delivers rigorous instruction to all students.
• Instills ethical principles and democratic values in students.
• Presents subject matter according to guidelines established by WVDE and board policies.
