Job Summary:
The Outdoors for All team is inviting experienced winter instructors to apply for paid positions this season! If you have 2+ years instructing and/or relevant certifications from organizations such as PSIA-AASI, are willing to commit to teaching 3-5 days/week and meet the requirements outlined in the job description, please submit a resume and introduction to info@outdoorsforall.org.

Essential Functions
- Teach private lessons to participants using adaptive equipment and techniques 3-5 days each week, including weekends
- Work with students ages 7+ of all abilities
- Create a safe and fun learning environment
- Communicate with full time staff regarding participant progress, plans, and schedules daily
- Complete paperwork daily to track progress and participant experience
- Collaborate and work with volunteer instructors assisting on lessons
- Be a positive representative and promoter of Outdoors for All programs, events, and activities in our community.
- Communicate with staff lead regarding risk management issues related to programs to ensure that safety remains the primary goal.
- Comply with Outdoors for All safety and health policies and procedures.
- Participate fully as a member of the Outdoors for All staff team.
- Other duties as identified.
Requirements
- Must be patient, empathetic, and willing to adapt to different needs
- Must have experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English
- Must be a level 7 skier/snowboarder or higher
- Must have at least 2 years of teaching experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, maneuver over uneven surfaces, operate in program environments with adverse weather conditions
- Must be available to work every weekend from December 19- March 31
- This position requires both on and off snow time with participants ages 7+
- Must attend pre-season training in December. Placement is contingent upon successfully completing training and meeting the minimum skill requirements and safety standards
- Must be able to work in a team setting and alone
- Must have a strong value for personal safety and the safety of others
- Passion for teaching snow sports and desire to create inclusion
- Must own equipment or are able to obtain by completion of training (must pass binding inspection) and own professional-looking gear.
- Current First Aid card and CPR training (or willingness to obtain within 14 days).
- Must pass Washington state background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference given to individuals with current PSIA/AASI certification, especially those who hold adaptive certifications.
- Preference given to individuals with bi/mono ski knowledge and experience tethering, or the willingness to obtain through training.
- Preference given to those who have experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Preference given to those who are able to communicate using ASL.
Hourly:
$23-25
Status:
Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours:
Dependent on program schedule, typically Thursday-Sunday. Evening and weekend work required.
Base:
This position will be based out of Stevens Pass and Summit West at The Summit at Snoqualmie, depending on the program.
