Job summary

Morgan Autism Center in California is seeking an Adaptive Skills Trainer Specialist to implement instructional and environmental modifications designed to improve outcomes and independence for participants.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services field, experience with individuals with disabilities, and the ability to drive. CPR and first aid certifications, plus crisis intervention training, are expected within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services field or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience with individuals with disabilities or within 9 months of employment 40 hours of designed training.
• Excellent written and oral communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establishes supportive relationships with participants.
• Supervises participants to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Implements positive programming to maximize independence.
• Assists in developing schedules aligned with IPP.
• Lifts and transfers participants as needed and provides self-care support.
• Documents progress toward ISP goals using data collection.
