Job summary

Reach for Resources, Inc. in Edina, Minnesota is seeking a part-time ski and snowboard assistant to support children with disabilities in adaptive recreation programs, evenings and weekends. You will work with Parks and Recreation staff to create an inclusive environment and help participants access local activities.

This role requires strong communication, energy, willingness to lift up to 30 lbs, and a background check; lift passes and gear are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to confidently downhill ski or snowboard (equipment can be provided)
• Genuine liking for working with kids with disabilities
• Energetic and willing to make a difference in a child’s life
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Evening and weekend availability
• Must pass MNDHS Background Screening

Responsibilities

• Work with city parks staff as an assistant coach, program leader, or instructor
• Assist and engage other kids and the child receiving 1:1 assistance
• Provide extra instruction, sensory strategies, behavioral support, and activity adaptations
• Provide personal care assistance as needed and facilitate social interaction
• Complete inclusion paperwork
