Job summary

The City of Dublin is seeking Adaptive Recreation Instructors to implement inclusive programs for residents with special needs in Dublin, Ohio. You will work with the Adaptive Recreation Coordinator to adapt activities, ensure safety, and create a positive, memorable experience for participants.

Typical hours are 2–10 per week, with evenings and some weekends. Emphasis on teamwork, communication, and safety, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with a wide range of special needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stay active during program time.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate activities for adaptive recreation offerings.
• Organize supplies, materials, and equipment for programs.
• Lead, instruct, demonstrate, and supervise activities.
• Adapt activities to meet participant needs.
• Ensure safety by enforcing policies and maintaining clean activity areas.
• Collaborate with the Adaptive Recreation Coordinator on accommodations and issue resolution.
• Communicate effectively with participants and coordinator before, during, and after each program.
