Job summary

Open Arms Care is seeking a Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who may be medically fragile in home settings. The role focuses on maintaining mobility and functional capacity through targeted therapy plans.

Responsibilities include initial and annual assessments, plan development, staff education, and collaboration with other Open Arms Care locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PT program; Doctorate required unless grandfathered.
• Active licensure from TN Board of Physical Therapy.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services evaluating individuals with IDD who may be medically fragile.
• Develop and implement functional treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Assess movement dysfunction and address through therapy plans.
• Educate staff on therapy plans and equipment use.
• Document treatment results and adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team across Open Arms Care locations.
• Attend to in-home treatment options and exercises with clients.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
