KIPP New Orleans Schools (KNOS) is a non-profit network of charter schools in New Orleans dedicated to academic excellence and opportunity. We seek an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to assess motor skills, align instruction with IEPs, and collaborate with therapists and families to support students’ physical and overall development.

The role is full-time and on-site, requiring adaptive PE certification, state teaching credential, and experience in urban schools.

Qualifications

• Certification in adaptive physical education is required.
• Two years of teaching experience in urban, open enrollment schools preferred.
• State teaching credential required.

Responsabilités

• Assess students’ motor skills and fitness levels; reflect IEP present levels.
• Develop and update annual IEP goals aligned with student needs and standards.
• Monitor student progress through observation and MTSS processes.
• Collaborate with occupational/physical therapists and classroom teachers to coordinate services.
• Establish a safe, supportive learning environment with effective behavior management.
• Ensure ADA-compliant teacher-student ratios in adaptive PE.
