Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is hiring a Physical Education Teacher for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Missouri teaching certificate for physical educator required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Professional license pursuant to state law.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement motor/leisure programs for students with severe disabilities considering school, community and home environments.
• Analyze student learning style from progress and adapt teaching strategies to motor/leisure needs.
• Follow behavioral support plans of individual students.
• Develop and follow an instructionally time efficient daily schedule for motor/leisure programs.
• Follow student-specific health procedures as trained by the school nurse.
• Maintain confidentiality of PD/staff/student information.
• Follow policies of the MSSD program.
• Accurately complete required reports by deadlines.
• Maintain CPR certification at AHA/Red Cross level for Health Care Providers.
