Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Missouri teaching certificate for physical educator is required.
  • Experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement motor/leisure programs for students with severe disabilities across school, community, and home settings.
  • Analyze each student’s learning style from progress charts and adapt teaching strategies to address motor/leisure needs.
  • Follow behavioral support plans for individual students as documented.
  • Develop and follow a time-efficient daily schedule for motor/leisure activities.
  • Follow student-specific health care procedures as trained by the school nurse.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, parent, and staff information.
  • Adhere to MSSD policies and guidelines and complete required reports by deadlines.
  • Maintain CPR certification at the level required for Health Care Providers.
