Job summary

REACH Academy Charter School is seeking a dependable, flexible Building Substitute Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the 26-27 school year. This full-time role provides instructional coverage across Elementary and Middle Schools (K-8).

The substitute adapts to various grades and classrooms, following teacher plans and maintaining REACH standards. The ideal candidate is adaptable, capable of working with diverse ages, and committed to a supportive school culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability and willingness to work with students across grades K-8.
• Ability to provide coverage in a variety of subjects and classroom settings.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute teaching coverage for classrooms in grades K-8 as assigned by school administration.
• Provide coverage across a variety of subject areas and classroom settings, including general education, special education, and special-area classes such as PE, Art, Technology, and other courses.
• Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher whenever available.
• Deliver instruction and support students in completing assigned academic work.
• Maintain a safe, structured, positive, and productive classroom environment.
• Implement REACH Academy's classroom management practices, behavioral expectations, and schoolwide procedures.
• Maintain high expectations for student behavior, participation, and academic effort.
• Adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, schedules, and classroom environments.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, interventionists, administrators, and other school staff.
• Provide additional instructional, behavioral, or supervisory support when classroom coverage is not needed.
• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, transitions, assemblies, or other school activities as assigned.
• Become familiar with schoolwide routines, emergency procedures, student expectations, and building procedures.
• Maintain student confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Build positive and respectful relationships with students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the school.
