Job summary

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a state-approved assessment with required scores (ETS ParaPro, Pearson Paraprofessional, or Master Teacher Online Training).
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Have completed 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or above from an accredited institution.
• Successfully finish a paraeducator apprenticeship program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.

Responsibilities

• Work when needed to substitute for permanent employees during the school day, providing instructional assistance and supervision.
• Communicate with teachers, supervisor, and staff on student issues and progress; maintain confidentiality.
• Assist students with basic daily needs including hygiene and toileting; support daily living skills.
• Incorporate orientation and mobility in student interactions and IEP goals and evaluations.
• Participate in training and support in work experience settings.
