Job summary

Kinder Joy Learning Academy in Greer, SC seeks an Early Childhood Floater to support multiple classrooms and care for children from infants to preschool. You will implement developmentally appropriate activities and help maintain a safe, engaging environment.

The role requires 6 months to 1 year in licensed childcare, a High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid, and strong communication and teamwork. Flexible, reliable, and passionate about early childhood education are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma at minimum; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare center or early education program.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to work with all age groups and adjust to different classroom environments.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork and flexibility.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program for young children.
• Plan activities to meet physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs.
• Provide nutritious snacks and lunches.
• Provide adequate equipment and activities.
• Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
• Provide weekly and monthly schedules of activities.
• Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities.
• Develop activities introducing math and literacy concepts.
• Establish policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policies.
• Be familiar with emergency procedures.
• Supervise children in the childcare center.
• Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling.
• Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time.
• Build children's esteem.
• Establish routines and provide positive guidance.
• Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable.
• Implement positive discipline when required.
• Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand.
• Maintain program administration.
• Keep parents informed of program expectations, activities and child progress.
• Develop and maintain current, accurate and confidential client files.
• Develop daily activity plans.
