Job summary

Ascension Parish School Board seeks an Adapted Physical Education Teacher to provide a modified physical education program for students with disabilities. The position reports to the Principal/Director/Supervisor of Special Education and is Exempt with a 182‑day assignment.

Qualifications

• Experience collaborating with SPED and general education teams.
• Knowledge of IEP development and progress reporting.
• Ability to implement adapted physical education plans.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement specially designed instruction for students with disabilities.
• Develop and review IEPs with the IEP team at least annually.
• Deliver IEP services in collaboration with SPED staff and general education teachers.
• Prepare and send progress reports to inform parents of student progress.
• Complete required reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
