Job summary

Synechron seeks an experienced ADA Tester in Piscataway, NJ to evaluate accessibility of our digital platforms for ADA and WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA compliance. The role covers automated scanning, manual reviews, keyboard-only testing, screen reader validation, and mobile accessibility checks.

Responsibilities include designing test plans, decomposing requirements into test cases, and developing automated scripts for data extraction and loading validation.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Knowledgeable on the principles of test management and testing process.
  • QA background with strong analytical skills, ability to decompose requirements into testable cases (positive, negative, data scenarios).
  • Experience in ADA compliance tools (Axe, WAVW, Lighthouse, Tenon, JAWS, WebAIM color contrast checker).
  • Assistive Technology Testing experience (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, magnifiers, voice control, switch devices).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices using Litmus or Jenkins.

ADA Tester

We are seeking for a ADA tester to evaluate the accessibility of the organization’s website/application to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA standards. The project includes automated scanning, manual accessibility review, keyboard‑only testing, screen reader validation, mobile accessibility checks, and code-level WCAG conformance analysis.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $80K - $83K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze business requirements and functional specifications to understand the data flow and transformation logic.
  • Develop detailed test plans and test cases for web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) including defining the scope, resources, schedule, and testing strategies.
  • Ability to decompose test cases into functional test automation scripts.
  • Write and maintain automated test scripts to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Utilize automated accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) to identify potential accessibility issues quickly
  • Validate data integrity and consistency across source and target systems, this includes checking data completeness, accuracy, and transformation rules.
  • Conduct performance testing of ETL processes to ensure they meet performance benchmarks and can handle expected data volumes.
  • Identify defects and issues during testing, document them clearly, and work with development teams for resolution.
Requirements
You are
  • Must have 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Knowledgeable on the principles of test management and testing process
  • QA background with strong analytical skills, ability to decompose requirements into testable cases covering positive, negative, variety of data scenarios
  • Experience in tools for ADA compliance i.e. Axe, WAVW, Lighthouse, Tenon, JAWS, WebAIM color contract checker etc is MUST
  • Must have Assistive Technology Testing experience i.e. NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, magnifiers, voice control, switch devices
  • Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment practices using Litmus or Jenkins.
