Job summary

Reliance Matrix is seeking a Workforce Accommodations Specialist to work with employees, healthcare providers, and employers to identify reasonable accommodations under ADAAA and related laws. This role involves confidential assessments, interactive processes, and close collaboration with HR and supervisors.

You will handle a caseload, coordinate with medical vendors, and ensure proper documentation while maintaining HIPAA protections.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in HR/ Vocational Rehabilitation or equivalent.
  • Experience with RTW/Absence Management, ADA, FMLA.
  • Analytical and attention to detail; strong communication.
  • Independent work style with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess accommodation requests and engage in interactive process with employees and supervisors.
  • Review medical documentation to determine reasonable accommodations under ADAAA, state law, PWFA, and client requirements.
  • Serve as primary contact for employees with disabilities and guide return-to-work processes.
  • Manage a caseload of accommodation requests and coordinate with medical vendors.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; document thoroughly.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES *other duties as assigned* The Workforce Accommodations Specialist will work closely with the employee, healthcare provider and employer to explore accommodations that will assist the employee in performing the essential functions of their job. The Specialist reviews complex medical information for temporary and permanent accommodation requests; and works with the client to identify reasonable accommodations under the ADAAA, state law, PWFA and/or client requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct thorough and confidential assessments of accommodation requests, including reviewing medical documentation and engaging in an interactive process with employees and their supervisors/HR Partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with disabilities, providing guidance and support in requesting and implementing reasonable accommodations. Manage a caseload of open accommodation requests. Facilitate the interactive process between the employee and their employer to determine the most effective accommodation. Engage with medical vendors to clarify and validate the request for accommodation. Review the essential job functions provided by the employer along with restrictions/limitations provided by the employee and their treating provider to confirm the employee can meet the essential functions with or without the accommodation(s) requested. Stay current on both State and Federal laws and regulations surrounding the ADA and other relevant legislation. Educate employees and HR on complicated aspects of return to work, accommodations, and complex case processes. Responsible and accountable for maintaining and protecting personal health information. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and abide by HIPAA rules and regulations. Maintains accurate, detailed documentation. Collaborates with team members, client representatives, and management in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, COMPETENCIES, AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE

*or equivalent experience gained from any combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience*



  • BS/BA in Human Resource Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: RTW Services, Labor Relations, Absence Management, Disability Claim Management, Project Management

  • Experience with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and familiarity with FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act)

  • Analytical skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Sound facilitation skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and multi-task



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sitting for prolonged periods of time, frequently standing, walking distances up to one mile, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, occasionally lifting 25lbs., extensive typing, picking up and holding small objects, and otherwise using primarily the fingers rather than the entire hand. Employee is required to have visual acuity sufficient to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing notes; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. Employee is required to have hearing sufficient to understand verbal instruction and answer telephones.

The expected hiring range for this position is $57,800.00 - $78,040.00 annually. This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
