Job summary

The Mom Project is seeking a Part-Time Contract Attorney in California to advise on ADA defense matters for business, commercial property, and e-commerce clients. You will conduct initial consultations, evaluate claim merits, and help determine potential legal strategies with clients and stakeholders.

Candidates must hold an active California Bar license, reside in Orange, Los Angeles, or Riverside counties, and be comfortable speaking with potential clients directly.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to engage potential clients clearly.
• Experience or familiarity with ADA claims and accessibility issues is preferred.
• Willingness to train on ADA defense specifics and collaborate with clients.

Job description

Part-Time Contract Attorney

10-30 hours/week (depending on bar license/state cases)

Salary: $60-100/hour

Requirements

• Must hold an active California Bar License
• Must live in Orange, Los Angeles, or Riverside counties

Core Responsibilities

Conduct Initial consultation with potential clients regarding defense of claimed violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act - and willingness to learn this area of the law. Potential clients are owners of businesses, commercial property owners, and e-commerce website businesses. Handle some of these cases on behalf of the business, website owner, or real estate owner.

Qualifications

• Great people skills and willingness to train regarding claims filed under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
• Claim types include- ADA claim concerns disability access to commercial property and physical structures, as well as ADA claim concerns websites and how to make them accessible to persons with visual disabilities.
• Must have a clear, concise and commanding communication style and comfortable speaking with potential clients directly.
