Job summary

XMS Solutions, Inc. in Washington, DC, is seeking an Active Directory Server Migration Engineer in a hybrid/remote-friendly full-time role.

You will lead AD migrations from strategy to execution, using Quest Migration Manager and coordinating across infrastructure, security, and applications teams. You will assess environments, design secure migration plans, minimize downtime, and deliver reliable outcomes for federal and commercial clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in IT/CS/Engineering.
At least 5 years in enterprise infrastructure engineering or related field.
Advanced Windows Server and Active Directory expertise including domains, forests, trusts, Group Policy, DNS, and authentication services.

Responsibilities

Lead AD domain and forest migrations, including consolidation, restructuring and cross-domain transitions.
Assess source/target AD and Windows Server environments, map trusts, DNS, GPOs, apps, and service dependencies.
Plan and execute migration runbooks, cutover schedules, and rollback procedures.
