Summary
The Associate Director, Health Information Technology (ADHIT) will proactively lead strategic initiatives and engage with key customers, primarily US health systems and provider groups, as a technical subject matter expert. This enterprise role spans across all 4 prioritized Therapeutic Areas of Interest: Cardiology, Renal and Metabolic (CRM), Oncology, Immunology, and Neurosciences. The main focus is to educate these customers about health information technology (HIT) systems, including electronic health records (EHR), to improve diagnosis, treatment, and patient management through tools supporting clinical workflows, patient stratification, and outcomes at the point of care.

Location: The position covers the Mid Atlantic region, including Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Wilmington, DE, Virginia Beach, VA, and Richmond, VA, with up to 50% travel. The candidate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define and identify key clinical and customer stakeholders, such as CMIOs, clinical staff, and EHR/EMR vendors, and participate in Health IT-related engagements at care sites.
  2. Act as a trusted point of contact for population health and health IT initiatives.
  3. Conduct regular meetings with customers to provide relevant Health IT information.
  4. Create and implement account plans to navigate the customer landscape and execute key initiatives.
  5. Serve as a technical and workflow subject matter expert to the Novartis Account Management team.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic insights on care management, quality initiatives, and HIT implementation.
  7. Contribute to developing scalable, EHR-enabled tools related to key therapeutic areas.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in HIT, healthcare systems, EHR, or related fields.
  • Experience applying health IT in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Customer-focused with experience in customer service and understanding customer needs.
  • Leadership skills, including influencing, collaboration, strategic thinking, and coaching.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with EHR systems like Epic, Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, Cerner.
  • Experience integrating clinical systems across care continuum.
  • Knowledge of the Health IT landscape and stakeholders.
  • Understanding healthcare reform impacts.

The salary range is estimated between $132,300 and $245,700 annually, with potential adjustments based on market, location, and experience. Benefits include bonuses, stock units, medical and financial benefits, and more. The role requires successful completion of initial training and a valid driver’s license, with accommodations available for qualified individuals with restrictions.
