Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hospital of Central CT seeks a WOCN RN Acute to provide expert wound, ostomy, and continence care. You will plan, implement, and evaluate care for acute and chronic wounds, fistulae, and ostomy care within a collaborative team.

Requirements include a Nursing degree, CT RN licensure, and enrollment in a WOCN program within a year, with board certification pursued thereafter. EPIC EHR experience is preferred, with strong leadership and education skills emphasized.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 2 years with at least 2000 hours of progressive wound care experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Licensure as RN in CT DPH; enrollment in a WOCN educational program within 1 year of hire; board certification in wound/ostomy/continence via WOCNCB after enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care for patient populations; develops evidence-based protocols and refines protocols with emerging evidence.
• Develops and delivers education for patients, families, colleagues, and community partners.
• Provides consultation and serves as a resource to staff; promotes nursing professionalism.
