Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Acute Speech Therapist to join the South Florida Baptist Hospital pool (PRN). The role conducts comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing, and develops individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will possess CCC-SLP certification, a valid Speech Therapy License, BLS, and a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with preference for a Doctorate.

Qualifications

• Assessment and treatment planning for speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing.
• Collaboration with physicians, nurses and rehab professionals for coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress and strategies for recovery.
• Maintain accurate clinical records per hospital and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
• Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to CFY candidates as needed
