Job summary

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient on the unit.
• Ability to assess data reflecting patient status and identify age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Establishes and maintains communication; teaches patients and families.
• Delivers age-appropriate care on the assigned unit.
• Collaborates with Physician regarding patient condition, orders, and care plan.
• Provides leadership to LPNs, Nurse Aides, and Secretaries for quality care.
• Complies with organizational policies and hospital practices.
• Maintains department competencies for patient care.
• Demonstrates Service Excellence and promotes patient satisfaction.
• Works cooperatively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Participates in Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Participates in team conference.
• Performs timely documentation of medical necessity and care plan.
