Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL seeks an Acute Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients and plan individualized treatments that improve daily activities and safety. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, rehab staff, and case managers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include documenting progress per standards, educating patients and families, and participating in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
• OT (Occupational Therapy) licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure is needed.
• Or OT (Occupational Therapy) Eligible to obtain.
• Required Bachelor's Occupational Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities and limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs, mobility, and safety.
• Provide therapeutic interventions including neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and case managers.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety at home.
• Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate follow-up services.
