Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatients team in Acute Wards. You will deliver high-standard assessments and treatment plans for patients with complex presentations, supporting early discharge and MDT collaboration.

You will work across acute medical settings, including wards and home visits as needed, maintain accurate documentation, participate in audits and service development, and contribute to weekend rota. Regular supervision and CPD are provided.

Qualifications

• Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments and treatment plans for patients with complex presentations.
• Develop evidence-based, individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support discharge planning.
• Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined complex patient caseload within the inpatients and acute wards.
• Deliver assessment and treatment in inpatient settings and contribute to discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional standards.
• Attend ward rounds and MDT meetings to inform care decisions.
• Participation in weekend rota and ongoing CPD.
