Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician with at least 18 months of dialysis experience and a current CCHT credential to join the acute care team. You will work under the supervision of an FMCNA RN to deliver dialysis therapy, monitor patient response, and assist with setup, cannulation, and treatment documentation.

Qualifications

• 18 months of dialysis experience required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must have a valid PCT national certification or CMS state certification
• Compliance with FMCNA policies, procedures and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the supervision of the FMCNA RN in the acute setting
• Sets up and primes equipment for renal replacement therapies as directed
• Obtains pre/post treatment vital signs and weights; documents results
• Evaluates vascular access patency and monitors with RN guidance
• Performs cannulation, records treatment parameters and reports abnormalities to RN
• Discontinues dialysis per procedure and ensures patient safety during termination
