Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Indianapolis seeks a patient care technician to support the inpatient dialysis team. Under the supervision of the Hemodialysis RN, you will assist with machine setup, patient monitoring, and treatment documentation to ensure safe, effective sessions.

Travel between facilities may be required and you will help maintain a clean, safe environment while participating in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
• CMS/state certification requirements must be met within required timelines.
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ishihara color vision test required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under direct supervision in the dialysis suite.
• Report and document incidents, observations, or problems to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and support QA/QI activities.
• Set up and prime equipment after competency is demonstrated by the RN.
• Ensure dialysis machines are properly set up, tested, and safe.
• Collect vital signs, document treatment data, and monitor patient response.
