Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville seeks a Registered Nurse for Acute General Medicine to care for adults with a variety of medical conditions in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

You will work closely with physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and other professionals to deliver evidence-based care, coordinate plans, and educate patients and families on recovery goals, with pathways for professional development and leadership tracks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Delivering comprehensive evidence-based nursing care to adult medicine patients.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and identify changes in clinical condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, therapists, case managers, and other teams.
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses and multiple comorbidities.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery goals.
• Utilize advanced clinical technologies including Epic EMR, Pyxis, and Alaris pumps.
• Serve as a preceptor, mentor, charge nurse, or pursue future leadership opportunities.
