Job summary
The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Acute General Medicine. Qualifications
- BLS certification is required for this role.
- Active RN license in Virginia is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing must be completed within 5 years of hire.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to adult medicine patients.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and identify changes in clinical condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Manage patients with complex diagnoses and multiple comorbidities.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery goals.
- Participate in shared governance, practice councils, quality initiatives, and nursing committees.
- Utilize Epic EMR, Pyxis medication systems, and Alaris infusion pumps.
- Serve as a preceptor, mentor, charge nurse, or pursue future leadership opportunities.
