Job summary

Renown Health is seeking an Acute Float Pool RN for Emergency Care in Reno, NV. The role supports night shift and part-time scheduling with eligibility for benefits, working across acute care hospitals within the Renown Health system.

The RN will provide patient-centered care, perform assessments, and coordinate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes for diverse patient populations in emergency care settings.

Qualifications

  • Must have working-level English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • One year of acute Emergency Room care experience preferred.
  • State of Nevada Registered Nurse license required.
  • Current BLS; ACLS within 3 months of hire; PALS within 3 months; ENPC within 12 months; TNCC within 18 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide optimal patient care using evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Float to acute care departments within Renown Health as competencies require.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and evaluate care.
  • Coordinate care for pediatric to geriatric patients and families.

The RN is accountable for individualized patient care and outcomes over an entire episode of care. This position may be utilized as a resource RN the Acute Emergency Services Division, including Renown Regional Medical Center and Renown South Meadows in the units where competencies are assessed and demonstrated.## Nature and ScopeThis position must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.This position must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meet standards of quality as measured by the unit/department special populations competency standards.When possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of this position. The Acute Float Pool RN Emergency Care coordinates care between other professionals.Evidence-based nursing practice, along with critical thinking skills are required to provide optimally safe patient care when interacting with internal and external contacts and exercising judgment and making decisions.
