Job summary

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. in New York seeks an experienced Dialysis Hospital Services Nurse (Acute RN) to deliver specialized dialysis and renal nursing care in our Richmond University Medical Center unit.

The Acute RN collaborates with hospital and outpatient care teams to ensure patients receive the safest care with the highest-quality outcomes. The role is full-time with three 12-hour shifts starting at 7am, including on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor equipment used for dialysis and water treatment in the acute setting
• Perform and document pre-, intra- and post-dialysis assessments
• Initiate, monitor and terminate dialysis treatments per policies
• Dispense medication as ordered and document in hospital medical record
• Administer blood and blood products per hospital policy
• Transcribe and implement orders from physicians appropriately
• Access lab reports, interpret and report to nephrologist
• Provide renal education to patients and families
• Serve as primary dialysis contact for nephrologists and hospital staff
• Adhere to DCI policies and report completion of occurrence reports
