Acute Dialysis Technician support

Job summary

Core Dialysis is seeking an experienced Acute Dialysis Registered Nurse to deliver specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis in acute care settings across hospitals and facilities. You will administer procedures, monitor patients, and document care in accordance with Core Dialysis standards and regulatory guidelines.

The role offers full-time or PRN options, with shifts Monday through Sunday and occasional weekends. Certification is welcomed but not required; ACLS is valued.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute nursing experience, with a focus on acute dialysis preferred.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex patient needs.
• Physical capability to perform tasks, including patient handling and emergency response.
• Ability to work effectively and think critically in a fast-paced and at times emergency environment.
• Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
• Proficiency in English; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in reading and writing, and basic mathematical skills.
• Follows Core Dialysis physical and electronic checklists to always maintain survey readiness.
• Flexibility and availability to work at least 32 hours per week, including covering call-outs as needed for specific positions.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions efficiently.
• Ability to perform and complete physical tasks including, but not limited to repositioning patients, lifting and carrying supplies, lifting, handling equipment, bending, reaching, and responding to any emergency that may arise.
• Vaccination or qualified exemption per COVID-19 protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer dialysis procedures to acute care patients, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications within scope of practice and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate effective delegation and supervision of the clinical environment.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed within scope of practice.
• Adhere to patient-specific and facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Provide safe and effective dialysis procedures in compliance with Core Dialysis standards and regulations.
• Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain confidential documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Communicate with facility and Core Dialysis teams to ensure consistency in procedures.
• Rotate with team members to cover on-call shifts.
• Maintain compliance with equipment, policies, and regulatory mandates.
• Promote a customer-friendly environment.
• Perform delegated tasks such as inventory management.
• Ensure equipment labels are current and documentation is consistent.
• Operate dialysis machine disinfection and water testing per procedures.
• Practice safety and infection control standards.
• Facilitate transportation of equipment and supplies as required.
• Build relationships with vendors and colleagues through communication and problem-solving.
• Support financial stewardship and protect company information.
