Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital seeks a Behavioral Health Technician for the Acute Crisis Unit to support patient safety and care. The role focuses on constant safety observations, redirection and de-escalation for patients at risk to themselves or others.

Responsibilities include direct patient monitoring, documentation of vital signs, and effective communication with the treatment team to ensure high-quality care. This is a day-shift, full-time position in Little Rock, AR.

Qualifications

• Maintains documentation of patient mood, mental sharpness, and activity to support safety.
• Maintains direct observation and documentation of vital statistics.
• Recognizes and reports early signs of escalation to the care team.
• Communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care.

Responsibilities

• Responds appropriately to dangerous behavior.
• Applies de-escalation techniques and strategies.
• Completes patient care tasks (V/S, I&O, measurements) as delegated by licensed staff.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient/department environment.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge under supervision.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
