Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group is seeking two Advanced Practice Providers to join the Acute Care Surgery team at Rex UNC Health in Raleigh for evening and nighttime coverage. The role focuses on inpatient consults with some OR assistance, no outpatient clinic or off‑site calls.

The ideal candidate will multitask in a busy service, coordinating with multiple departments on a 24/7 basis. Shift hours and weekend night differentials apply; 4x10s evenings or 7x12s nights are possible.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited graduate-level APRN or PA program.
• Current North Carolina APRN/PA licensure.
• DEA certification as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: obtain history, perform exams, develop diagnoses and treatment plans with appropriate follow‑up.
• Education: inform patients and families about conditions and care.
• Leadership: precept, teach and participate in rounds and staff meetings; drive quality initiatives.
• Professional: communicate respectfully with patients and team; ensure timely documentation.
• Quality/Research: participate in continuous quality improvement and protocol updates.
