Job summary

UNC Health is seeking Advanced Practice Providers to join the Acute Care Surgery Team at Rex UNC Health for evening and nighttime shifts. The role focuses on inpatient consults, some 1st assist in the OR, and collaboration with MDs and other departments.

The APP will manage a high inpatient census with acute general surgical issues, contribute to call coverage, and work within 12-hour shifts. Weekend/night differentials apply; hospital-based, onsite employment in Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in North Carolina.
• Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: obtain history, perform exams, develop diagnoses, and manage treatment plans.
• Education: teach patients and families; develop materials and educate staff.
• Leadership: lead/participate in projects and committees to improve care.
• Professional: communicate respectfully with patients and colleagues; ensure timely care.
• Quality/Research: engage in continuous quality improvement and protocol development.
