Job summary

University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha seeks an Acute Care Surgeon to join a high-volume, collaborative team of 20 surgeons and APPs. The role includes broad practice across elective/general, emergency, trauma, and surgical critical care, with opportunities to mentor residents and participate in our Surgical Critical Care Fellowship.

The ideal candidate is board certified or eligible in Surgical Critical Care, completed a fellowship, and has a strong commitment to teaching and clinical

Qualifications

  • MD/DO or equivalent required.
  • Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care required.
  • Board certified or board-eligible in Surgical Critical Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad acute care surgery coverage including elective/general, emergency, trauma, and critical care.
  • Mentor and teach residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Contribute to clinical research and education programs.

Faculty Acute Care Surgeon Position – Broad Scope, High Impact

The Division of Acute Care Surgery (ACS) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is seeking a dedicated Acute Care Surgeon to join our collaborative and supportive team of 20 surgeons and a robust group of APPs.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collegial team committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic and high-volume environment. Our hospital partner, Nebraska Medicine, is an American College of Surgeons-designated Level I Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, managing:

  • 3,100+ trauma-related admissions annually
  • 2,100+ emergency general surgery cases per year
