Job summary

The role provides speech and language services across units, ensures adherence to clinical standards, and may supervise assistants. Licensure in the state and BLS certification are required, with CFY/CCC eligibility encouraged.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Speech-Language Pathologist.
• When working at a Sanford Health Facility: ASHA CCC/CFY acceptable or CFY in progress.
• May require valid driver’s license if applicable.
• Obtain and maintain required department competencies and certifications. BLS for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech and language evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans.
• Provides speech and language services and monitors disease progression; adjusts treatments accordingly.
• Provides client/patient/resident education on exercises and therapies.
• Ensures documentation follows departmental guidelines and regulatory standards.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students; participates in department education and training.
