Job summary

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), PRN, to join our Acute Care team. The role requires at least two weekend shifts per month and one minor and one major holiday per year, with some weekday availability for training.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology or ASHA‑accredited program, VA SLP licensure (or provisional with CFY), and BLS from the American Heart Association. Preferred: 1 year of SLP experience in acute care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology or ASHA‑accredited program.
• VA Speech Language Pathologist license required at start or Provisional license accepted if CFY candidate.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required on start.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies for evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff and team members.
• Completes administrative responsibilities and uses appropriate treatment modalities, equipment and protocols.
• Performs re-evaluations per guidelines and adjusts treatment plans accordingly.
• Selects evaluation and treatment methods based on diagnosis and patient status.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
