Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for PRN/as needed to support the Acute Care team. The role includes at least 5 weekend shifts per quarter, plus one weekday day per month and one holiday coverage.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's in Speech Pathology/ASHA-credentialed, BLS, and VA licensing eligibility with CFY consideration. The department emphasizes safety and patient experience within the Inova Health System.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Sciences Disorders accredited by ASHA.
• New Graduate Speech Language pathologist eligible for clinical fellowship.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start.
• VA Speech Language Pathologist License required upon start or provisional license if CFY is being considered; must be eligible for full VA licensure after CFY.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department policies on evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and team members.
• Performs re-evaluations and adjusts treatment plans as needed.
• Selects appropriate evaluation and treatment methods by diagnosis and patient status.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
