Qualifications

• Valid New York State license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provides professional nursing care to patients/clients in an assigned unit.
• Diagnoses and treats responses to health problems using nursing methods and techniques.
• Develops, implements and evaluates nursing regimens for assigned patients/clients.
• Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
• Interprets and reports patient responses to appropriate health team members.
• Participates with interdisciplinary health team to plan comprehensive patient care.
• Directs and assists allied nursing personnel in carrying out nursing regimens.
• Participates in ensuring quality of nursing practices and standards.
• Contributes to policy discussions and ongoing education within the Nursing Department.
